About Chey-Anne
Chey-Anne Wilson, MS, is a compassionate and experienced Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist based in Dayton, Ohio. With a background in psychology from Wright State University and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy from Capella University, she has long been committed to the values of family, integrity, and the transformative power of human connection.
As the first Black Marriage and Family Therapist in Dayton with her own private practice, established in 2022, Chey-Anne brings a unique perspective to her work. She offers experience across diverse populations and socioeconomic backgrounds, with a career that began in 2012 as a Family Support Specialist. Over the years, she has worked as a Qualified Mental Health Specialist, Intensive In-Home Counselor, and School-Based Therapist—experiences that have shaped her deep commitment to helping people heal.
Her Approach
Chey-Anne is a Licensed Independent Marriage & Family Therapist who helps individuals (16+), couples, and families gain clarity, strengthen connection, and create meaningful change in their lives and relationships.
Her work is rooted in a systemic and integrative approach, meaning she looks beyond surface-level concerns to understand the underlying patterns, relational dynamics, and emotional processes that shape each client’s experience.
Rather than relying on a single model, Chey-Anne draws from multiple evidence-based approaches to tailor the work to each client’s needs. This allows for deeper exploration, more effective intervention, and meaningful progress within sessions.
She helps clients:
understand emotional and relational patterns
improve communication and emotional awareness
navigate conflict and disconnection
develop healthier ways of responding
build stronger, more secure relationships
Chey-Anne values inclusivity and cultural awareness, with a commitment to supporting Black couples, women, teens, and families from diverse backgrounds.
She believes that every client deserves thoughtful, high-quality care. Whether you are navigating anxiety, working through relationship challenges, or processing past experiences, she provides a structured and supportive space for growth.
Beyond the Work
Chey-Anne enjoys reading, good food, tv/music/movies, hip-hop cardio, yoga, and spending quality time with family, friends, and her furbaby.
“To create change, it is emotion that we have to grasp hold onto and shift.” – Dr. Sue Johnson
